About This Blog

A rapidly aging, retired, history professor, married to a rapidly aging, but still working, psychology professor.  Two delightful and deeply loved young adult children:  one with ADHD, the other with an Autism Spectrum Condition.  One large, genetically mysterious blonde dog and one small, slightly demonic black dog.

Originally, this blog was mostly about family doings, which can be pretty chaotic . . . .  But for the last ten years I’ve been working on a book on autism and human rights in the U.S.A., drawing on the most recent research, but focusing on #actuallyautistic voices.  THE BOOK IS ABOUT TO BE PUBLISHED!!  What Today Withholds: Autism and Human Rights in America will be available on Amazon in paperback on August 15, and as an ebook on August 25.
